Tongue Tie Protocols for Myofunctional Orthodontic Practitioners – Auckland

By September 1, 2016

     9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Tongue tie identification and treatment is important in achieving sustained successful outcomes of myofunctional orthodontic programs. Poor tongue function, resulting from oral restrictions, limits the ability of myofunctional therapy alone to establish the good oral habits critical to functional orofacial development.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

This course will provide an in-depth foundation on the identification, diagnosis, treatment, aftercare and life-long effects of lip and tongue ties. It will focus on how practitioners of Myofunctional Orthodontics can incorporate treatment of oral restrictions into their daily practice.

Following the TTI Tongue Tie Protocols for Myofunctional Orthodontic Practitioners Course, practitioners will be able to confidently determine whether an oral restriction is impacting myofunction, breathing and posture. They will be able to professionally advise patients and parents on an appropriate course of action in relation to their Myofunctional Orthodontic care.

The role of each member of a multi-disciplinary team will be covered, including how overall function can be restored and enhanced through effective preparation, treatment and aftercare.

The course includes a comprehensive workbook produced by the Tongue Tie Institute which provides extensive foundation information and scholarly references. This book is an essential companion for any health practitioner working to address oral restrictions and is only available to participants of the Tongue Tie Protocols for Myofunctional Orthodontic Practitioners .

Practitioners and their support teams interested in this program may wish to extend their knowledge of the effect, diagnosis and treatment of oral restrictions at the upcoming Foundation and Advanced Courses in Brisbane on November 19 and 20 2016.
